Upper Extremity and Hand Therapy

METRO SPORTSMED® Outpatient Upper Extremity and Hand Therapy Program is staffed with licensed Occupational Therapists. Our program aims to restore the highest level of function for patients with impairments of the elbow, forearm, wrist and hand. Our Occupational Therapists use a client-centered evaluation to identify the deficits and patient strengths in order to facilitate the ability to perform self-care, home management, work duties and leisure activities. A home exercise program will be individually developed for patients to continue their recovery and become independent with their treatment. Diagnoses which are treated include:

  • Orthopedic conditions and injuries (i.e. fractures, arthritis)
  • Tendon lacerations, repairs and other soft tissue injuries (i.e. tendonitis, tendinosis and tenosynovitis)
  • Ligament injuries, ruptures and repairs
